STransfer Factors are found in both humans and animals and work by helping the immune system. The process of the body is to first recognize what should or should not be in the body and then destroy or otherwise neutralize anything harmful.
The process involves the production of antibodies, which are the immune-defense cells that "fight-off" antigens (invading disease agents like viruses and bacteria) when the body recognizes their presence. Disease happens at those times when the body does not recognize viral or bacterial antigens quickly enough. When it finally does the body produces antibodies that target and overwhelm the invaders and the animal gets well again.
Transfer Factors help to prevent that slow response by serving as "messengers." TFs can "educate" or modulate an animal's immune system, teaching it to recognize harmful "foreign substances" and communicating the knowledge that they are present. They do not cure - they help prevent.
Transfer Factor acts as an immuno-modulator. Recent data suggests that TF may work directly at the level of the DNA polymerization process, creating larger molecules from smaller ones.
Transfer Factors themselves are tiny protein molecules (oligoribonucleotide peptides) that are only one-seventh to one-fiftieth the size of antibodies.
How does Transfer Factor work
Transfer Factor are a type of immune therapy. At first the animals immune system has to recognize what should and should not be in the body- and then destroy or otherwise neutralize anything harmful. The most well-known immune response is called the humoral response. It basically involves the production of antibodies, the immune-defense cells that "fight-off" antigens (invading disease agents like viruses and bacteria) when the bodies recognize their presence.
Animals, just like humans get sick from infectious disease when the immune system does not quickly recognize viral or bacterial antigens, and they're allowed to multiply at the expense of the animals normal biological functioning. Eventually the animals body recognize most antigens and produces huge numbers of antibodies that target and overwhelm the invaders and the animal gets well again. But if the animals body were able to immediately recognize and attack invading micro-organisms, the animal would not 'get sick' from them at all.
Researchers have suggested that Transfer Factor evolved as a way of compensating for the immune system's slow response to foreign substances and that TFs are normally found in immune systems. Transfer Factors are tiny protein molecules. They are much smaller than antibodies and serve as 'messengers' for the immune system's other major type of response, called cell-mediated response, which involves white blood cells (leukocytes and lymphocytes).
The TF contain no antibodies, only tiny, low-molecular weight proteins. Transfer Factor has been linked to sending the cell mediated immune system to college. The TFs can 'educate' or modulate, an animals immune system, teaching it to recognize harmful 'foreign substances' and communicating the knowledge that they are present. Transfer Factor does not cure specific diseases or conditions.
